Female only acute mental health adult inpatient service.
Acute admission ward for assessment and treatment of mental illness.
NO UNIFORM WORN: Dress code is smart tidy but casual, no jeans, heels, no revealing clothing or excessive jewellery.Identity badges must be worn at all times.
Access is via the reception area at the front of the building, Harrington ward is on the 2nd floor, a lift is available.

Students are exposed to a number of mental illnesses including anxiety,depressive disorders OCD, post traumatic stress, psychotic illness (dual diagnosis, drug induced psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder). Students will work within the CPA framework and gain experience in MDT working, care planning, risk assessment and the Mental Health Act.

Spoke/short visits available: EMT (ECT) department, other wards, occupational therapy dept, depot clinics, health & well being centre, Together (patient advocacy). Liaise with your mentor and the team for more details.
